Around this time of year, I start booking Christmas getaways for the following month. I don’t like winter at all, but you can’t help but be merry around Christmas time! Last year I spent five days in Amsterdam visiting Christmas markets and have my final holiday of the year. Read more
Amsterdam is known for its beautiful canals, 165 to be exact, and bicycles with an estimated 847,000 of them! I have been to Holland multiple times and like most people, fell in love with the place. Here is my little list of things to do in and around Amsterdam.
I thought I would do a real, raw, and personal blog post today. This is something I have struggled with since I can remember. There has been a lot of guilt and pain that has come from not knowing what I want to do with my life, I know that almost sounds ridiculous but it is true.
I would have to say one of my favourite things to do is camping. Look, I know it’s not for everyone, but I love it! So this summer I went on multiple camping trips, one of which was in the Isle of Wight. Here is my little guide for this beautiful place! Read more
Around my birthday I have always written down a list of goals and bucket list items for that year. The same way people do with a New Year but more personal to me.
So, a few months later I thought I would reflect on what I have achieved so far and give you some idea of things on my list so you can see my kind of vibe and maybe this is something you could start doing in the future!
The second you arrive in Dubai the first thing that hits you is the heat! Although Dubai is hot all year round, July and August are the two hottest months reaching around 40°C most days. Thankfully, everywhere is air-conditioned and I found I was often quite chilly unless I was outside!
I have had the privilege of visiting this beautiful island multiple times but I often find that many people haven’t heard of it. The Portuguese Island Madeira is actually the top of a massive shield volcano located just off the west coast of Africa. While its clientele is usually older, there is still plenty to do for all ages.
In desperate need of a holiday, I booked a last-minute adventure to Malta. This is one of the smallest countries in Europe located in the Mediterranean Sea, south of Sicily, Italy. Malta consists of the main island (Malta) and then two smaller islands, Gozo and Comino.
Hello and welcome to my first blog post! (eeekk!)
Growing up my family often joked that I should write a book about my life, my reply has always been the same ‘I wouldn’t know where to start’. So instead of a book I thought I would give blogging a whirl. Not 100% sure what I aim to achieve but why the heck not?!
I am 21 years young, living in East of England close to the coast. I have finished college, traveled a little and now in-between jobs making this the perfect time to set up a little blog! I am a self-confessed old soul, in my eyes nothing beats being cuddled up with a blanket, cup of tea reading a book or watching a good movie! However I also love being outside in nature and exploring new places. I have been fortunate to explore some amazing places around the world such as New York, Dubai, Mauritius, Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria and the list goes on. I’m looking forward to writing about them and hopefully inspire you to visit!
I have set up Travels of Eden to be a bit of a hobby to occupy me while I try to figure out what I should be doing with my life (I think its something the majority of us are trying to figure out!) It is a space for me to get creative and keep note of all my adventures past and future. However it is also a place to write about my ‘travel’ into adulthood, the struggles, successes and everything in-between, in hope that others don’t feel as alone.
I hope you join me on this new adventure and enjoy reading!
